Apprentice Kitchen Assistant

Greene King is recruiting an Apprentice Kitchen Assistant (Chef apprenticeship) based at the Nags Head (Mickleover). This role is a hands-on apprenticeship where most learning happens on the job: you will prepare, cook and present food to business standards, maintain hygiene and safety, manage stock and portion control, and work as part of the kitchen team during busy services.

The apprenticeship is a 15-month Production Chef Level 2 programme combining on- and off-the-job training. You will work 25 hours per week on shift patterns (including evenings, weekends and bank holidays) and attend regular review meetings and workshops.

Training includes Functional Skills in English and maths if not already achieved, four masterclasses through the Chef Academy, and periodic progress reviews with your line manager and apprenticeship trainer.
