Apprentice Maintenance Engineer - STAX CONVERTING LIMITED

STAX Converting is recruiting an Apprentice Maintenance Engineer to join its maintenance team in Wigan. This hands-on role is based at UNIT C, Coupland Road, Hindley Green, Wigan (WN2 4HX) and is primarily in-person.

The apprentice will work Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (38 hours per week), performing mechanical, electrical and controls maintenance under supervision, undertaking fault finding, preventative and reactive maintenance, and contributing to continuous improvement activities. The position is offered as an employed apprenticeship with day-to-day duties on site and practical exposure to industrial equipment and processes.

Training is delivered by Alliance Learning on a block-release schedule leading to a Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician qualification. The apprenticeship starts on Monday 5 January 2026 and runs for 3 years 6 months, with on- and off-the-job training (three days a week in year one at block release, reducing to on-site delivery by year three).
