ROUND BANK ENGINEERING LIMITED
Want hands-on engineering experience? Join Round Bank in Hebden Bridge as an Apprentice Production and Test Operative - assemble and test motor controller boards, master inspection and quality control, and build practical skills for apprenticeships, uni or a technical career. Apply by 30 Nov 2025.
Round Bank Engineering Limited is recruiting an Apprentice Production and Test Operative to join their manufacturing team in Hebden Bridge. The role involves hands-on work assembling and handling components (including hand-placing components onto PCBs), preparing production runs, and supporting programming and functional testing of motor controller boards.
You will also carry out inspection and quality-control tasks using magnifiers/AOI/microscopes and log test results, reporting any non-conformances to the Operations Manager.
The apprenticeship is a Level 2 Engineering and Manufacturing Foundation Apprenticeship delivered with Calderdale College. It is a largely on-the-job role with specialist training time away from work. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (40 hours/week) with college time to be discussed.
The start date is Monday 1 December 2025 and the duration is 1 year. The wage is stated as £15,704 for the first year, with potential increases depending on age; national minimum wage rules for apprentices apply.
Anyone aged 16-21 can start this foundation apprenticeship (with specific concessions for some 22-24 year olds). No specific prior qualifications or experience are required, but apprentices without a Level 2 in maths and English will need to work towards functional skills.
To apply, sign in with your GOV. UK One Login; after signing in you will apply via the employer's application process. The application closes on Sunday 30 November 2025.
