Fancy building a championship car? Join Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 apprenticeships to learn hands-on skills in car build, composites, electronics, R&D and more-gain industry experience, formal training and a launchpad for uni or a motorsport career.

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team offers a range of apprenticeship roles across multiple technical and support functions. Apprenticeships listed include Car Build, Car Build (Electronics), Composite Machining, Purchasing, Race Team (Heritage), Research and Development (Dynos) and Research and Development (Test Lab).

Each role is delivered in a hands-on, fast-paced environment and is designed to give practical experience alongside formal training.

Apprentices will learn and apply industry practices such as assembly processes from engineering drawings, electronics wiring and assembly, operating machine tools for precision composite components, procurement processes with 3-6 month rotations in Purchasing, and sign-off/testing procedures in R&D dyno and laboratory environments. Several roles explicitly state the apprenticeship is undertaken while working towards a Level 3 qualification, and Purchasing specifies the CIPS Level 3 Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations.

Positions involve close integration with skilled technicians and engineering teams, practical maintenance, testing and quality control activities, inventory and parts management, and structured on-the-job learning. The programme is workplace-based and focused on developing technical skills through real manufacturing and test processes.

Qualification Outcome

Level 3 apprenticeship qualifications (e.g., CIPS Level 3 Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations for Purchasing; Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance Technician for Race Team (Heritage); Level 3 vocational qualifications for technical roles).
