Aviva's Apprentice Software Engineer 6 Level 6 is a 48-month degree apprenticeship based in the City of Bristol. You will spend around 80% of the programme time gaining hands-on experience building, testing and maintaining software for Aviva's applications and digital products, and 20% on apprenticeship studies with a national training provider leading to a BSc (Hons) Digital & Technology Solutions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and testing code, using version control, focusing on software development techniques and languages, and contributing within small collaborative teams to deliver high-quality solutions. The programme is aimed at candidates with coding interest/experience and a desire to learn and progress to become a fully-fledged Aviva Software Engineer on completion.

  • Minimum of 5 x GCSEs or Scottish National 5s at Grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent, including English and Maths

  • Understanding or experience of coding (through study or personal interest)
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to explain work to others

£17,500 per year

Starting salary from £17,500 (depending on skills, experience and qualifications).
