Latimer Primary School is recruiting an Apprentice Teaching Assistant to begin on Monday 5 January 2026. This Level 3 apprenticeship combines on-the-job learning in a primary school setting in Anstey, Leicester with formal training delivered by Loughborough College.
The role is term-time only (39 weeks per year) and is 35 hours per week, Monday-Friday 08:00-15:30 with a 30-minute lunch break.
As an apprentice you will support class teachers to deliver learning activities to whole classes, small groups and individual pupils (including those with special educational needs), deliver targeted interventions, prepare and adapt resources, use IT to support learning, and contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment. Training includes blended workplace learning, attendance at Loughborough College (including functional skills if required), and diarised trainer/assessor visits.
Essential requirements: GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4/C or above), good communication skills, and a genuine interest in working with children. Apply via the GOV.UK apprenticeship service (sign in with GOV.UK One Login).

£13,741 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. This role is TERM TIME ONLY, working 39 weeks per year, the actual salary is £7.55 per hour X 35 hours per week = £11,798 per annum. Pay to increase to national minimum wage for age group, following 12 months.
