As an Apprentice Vehicle Damage Paint Technician you will work as part of a skilled team preparing, spraying and finishing vehicles that have been involved in collisions. Most of the apprenticeship is on-the-job learning in the bodyshop where you will undertake repairs such as scratch and dent repair, panel preparation, masking, priming, paint refinishing, detailing, buffing and polishing.
You will combine workplace training with off-the-job study delivered by the training provider AUTO-ASSESS LIMITED. The programme leads to a Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician apprenticeship standard and includes Level 2 maths and English functional skills if not already achieved.
Training covers technical knowledge such as substrate identification, paint manufacturer application methods, use of spray equipment and associated repair tools and equipment.
Practical details: the post is based at Fiddlebridge Lane, Hatfield, Hertfordshire (AL10 0SP). Hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (40 hours per week). The apprenticeship starts Monday 2 February 2026, runs for 2 years 6 months and offers a first-year wage of £15,704 (subject to apprenticeship/NMW rules).
