As an Apprentice Vehicle Damage MET Technician you'll join a skilled team at Brian Robson Coachworks in St Albans working on collision repair. Day-to-day duties include stripping and refitting vehicle parts, rebuilding vehicle suspension and resetting geometry, removing and reinstalling SRS systems, and reinstating vehicles to a roadworthy condition.
The role is hands-on and based in the company's bodyshop (Unit 2, Brick Knoll Park, Ashley Road, St Albans, AL1 5UG).
The apprenticeship runs for 2 years 6 months and starts on Monday 2 February 2026. Typical hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). Training is delivered onsite by AUTO-ASSESS LIMITED as a Level 3 Vehicle damage MET Technician programme with no college attendance required.
You will achieve a refrigerant handling certification (EC 842-2006) and the Level 3 qualification; Level 2 Maths and English Functional Skills will be provided if not already achieved.
Desirable entry qualifications include GCSEs in English and Maths (grade 4/C or above) and a genuine passion for automotive work. On completion you can expect opportunities for permanent employment and progression into roles such as Workshop Controller, Vehicle Damage Assessor or Bodyshop Manager.
