Spend at least an hour each week tackling non-routine maths problems in a 13-week online programme, from logic and geometry to probability and strategy. Explain your reasoning, create original questions and track your progress in a Digital Logic Journal, then review fully worked solutions.
The Archimedes Awards Mathematics Skills Programme is a 13-week online programme designed for students who enjoy mathematical challenge, problem-solving and independent thinking. It is aimed at young people in Years 7-11 worldwide, and the level of challenge is adapted to suit each student’s age and stage.
Across the programme, students commit at least one hour each week to mathematical investigations, puzzles, strategic problems and creative challenges. They work on non-routine problems involving logic and reasoning, number and algebra, geometry and spatial thinking, and probability, risk and strategy.
Students are encouraged not just to find answers, but to explain their reasoning clearly, compare approaches and develop the habits needed for deeper mathematical study.
After submitting their work, students receive fully worked solutions and review their own methods to build confidence, resilience and independent study skills. They also create original questions, record their progress in a Digital Logic Journal and receive recognition on successful completion.
The programme is independent of DofE, though it follows the same structured approach as the organisation’s DofE pathway, and it is offered as a recognised mathematical achievement for students who want to go beyond the standard curriculum.
