Delve into the fundamentals of architectural engineering with an immersive 3-week summer programme hosted on UCLA's campus. The course combines lectures, hands-on design exercises and case studies to explore how architecture and engineering solve real-world challenges.
Students investigate sustainable design, building systems (electrical, HVAC), structural and thermal considerations, and environmental strategies while developing a STEAM-oriented approach to smart buildings.
Participants undertake a capstone project-designing a conceptual multi-storey hospital for a challenging climate-and present a Project Construction Narrative with digital renderings or a prototype. The programme is offered as residential (boarding) and day options, includes supervised campus life, excursions, and provides a Course Completion Certificate and portfolio-building materials.
International students receive visa support documentation and information on mandatory international registration fees where applicable.
