Join Military Band, Corps of Drums or Pipes & Drums to learn instruments from brass and woodwind to bagpipes, whether you’re a beginner or experienced player. Train with a team, work towards recognised qualifications and perform at events in the UK and overseas.

Army Cadets music gives cadets the chance to develop their musical skills through a structured syllabus that welcomes both beginners and experienced players. You can join Military Band, Corps of Drums, or Pipes & Drums, learning brass, woodwind, percussion, fife, drum, bugle, bagpipes and other traditional instruments within a team setting.

The programme combines regular training with performance opportunities at prestigious events in the UK and overseas. Cadet musicians can work towards recognised qualifications, and music also helps build commitment, discipline, self-esteem and teamwork.

It is part of a wider cadet experience that includes camps, examinations, ceremonies and community events.

Music camps run twice a year, at Easter and in the October half term, bringing together cadets and adult volunteers to rehearse, perform and learn from military music specialists. If you want to get involved, you can find your nearest Army Cadet detachment and look for one that offers music.
