Artificial Intelligence for High Schoolers at UCLA (Summer Institute UCLA)

This on-campus summer institute course at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) offers high school students an immersive introduction to artificial intelligence, combining technical foundations with ethical discussion and real-world applications. Participants explore machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing and AI systems while engaging in case studies and Socratic discussions about fairness, transparency and bias.

Students take part in hands-on workshops and project work that build a coding portfolio and culminate in team project demos and hackathon prototypes. The program includes interactive classes, guest lectures, supervised extracurricular activities and field trips; residential students receive housing, meals and 24/7 supervision.

On completion students receive an official Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition and may receive performance reports or transcript instructions if enrolled in credit-bearing classes.

The program organises airport transfers and provides visa support/letters of introduction for international students. Parents/guardians are engaged in pre-arrival forms (dietary, roommate preferences) and the course emphasises safety, supervised off-campus trips and age-appropriate accommodation arrangements.
