Help plan and run weekly Cub meetings, teaming up with leaders to deliver games, outdoor adventures, creative challenges and practical activities. No Scouting experience is needed: you’ll get training and support, and can visit a meeting to meet the team.
Ashton Central Scout Group is looking for a volunteer Assistant Cub Scout Leader to support its Cub section, which works with young people aged 8 to 10½. This is a rewarding community role for someone who enjoys helping children and young people build confidence, teamwork, independence and practical life skills through Scouting.
As part of a friendly leadership team, you’ll help plan and run weekly meetings and assist with a varied programme of games, outdoor adventures, creative challenges and practical activities. You may also help with occasional trips, camps and events, supporting the Cub Leader and other volunteers to deliver an engaging, adventurous experience for the section.
No previous Scouting experience is required, as training and support are provided. The role is suited to someone enthusiastic, positive and reliable, with good teamwork and communication skills. Volunteers receive support through the Scouts training programme, expenses are reimbursed, and a DBS check is required.
If you’re interested, you can come along to a meeting, meet the team and see what they do.
