Aspiring Leisure Professional Apprenticeship - Impulse Leisure

This 18-month Aspiring Leisure Professional Apprenticeship with Impulse Leisure combines on-the-job work at Blackshots Leisure Centre with off-the-job training to gain nationally recognised qualifications. As a Leisure Apprentice you'll support day-to-day operations across the fitness suite, poolside (lifeguard and swimming instruction), reception and café, gaining practical experience in customer service, health & safety, equipment set-up and facility maintenance.

You will study for leisure sector qualifications including NVQ Level 2 Leisure Team Member, National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching), and a Level 2 fitness/gym qualification. Training is delivered mainly on site by the training provider (LOCOMOTIVATION LTD.

), with off-the-job learning built into the programme.

The role is full-time (37 hours per week) with shift patterns that include early mornings, late evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The apprenticeship starts 1 December 2025 and offers a starting salary equivalent to £14,573.

69 per annum (rising to a higher band up to £23,568. 84 as milestones are met). On successful completion there is the expectation of continued employment or further career progression within the organisation.
