Fancy exploring life’s secrets at Oxford? Join Atlas Summer Courses' Biology summer school to dive into ecosystems, zoology and biodiversity, build lab and analytical skills, learn in tutorial-style seminars and connect with academics—boost your university and career prospects while shaping your scientific thinking.

Prize: Certificate of completion and a personalised letter of recommendation

Atlas Summer Courses’ Biology summer school is designed for ambitious 16-17-year-olds who want to explore living organisms, ecosystems, zoology, plant biology and biodiversity in more depth. Hosted at colleges of the University of Oxford, the programme focuses on how biological systems function, how species adapt and survive, and how biology connects to wider themes such as health, disease and environmental change.

Teaching is delivered in a tutorial-style format with small seminar groups and personalised academic feedback. Students take part in tutorial Q&A sessions, an academic skills masterclass, expert speaker sessions, a university fair and a wider summer programme that includes time in Oxford.

The course is shaped around the interests of the group rather than a fixed curriculum, so learning stays relevant and engaging. Participants complete independent work, receive support from experienced tutors and leave with a certificate of completion.

The programme is aimed at students who want a challenging, enriching academic experience with plenty of discussion, independent thinking and exposure to Oxford-style learning.
