Atlas Summer Courses’ Computer Science summer school is designed for ambitious 13-15-year-olds who want to build confidence in coding and computing problem-solving. Hosted at University of Cambridge colleges, the programme gives students the chance to study in an inspiring academic setting while working in small classes of up to 10 students.
Students explore the fundamentals of software development through practical, engaging teaching. The course covers programming languages such as Python and Java, alongside topics including writing and debugging code, creating user interfaces, digital design and computational thinking.
It is shaped around the group’s interests rather than a fixed curriculum, so the learning stays relevant and engaging.
Alongside the academic content, the programme includes a masterclass on teamwork and collaboration and a reflection session to help students think about their progress. Participants receive a certificate of completion, detailed tutor feedback and a personalised letter of recommendation.
Depending on the chosen package, the course can include meals, accommodation, trips and other support services.
