Study chemistry in Oxford college settings through small-group classes, guided problem-solving and hands-on experiments. Explore reaction rates, crystals and the periodic table, with tutors shaping sessions around your group’s interests. You’ll also receive detailed tutor feedback and a personalised letter of recommendation.

Atlas Summer Courses offers a Chemistry summer school in Oxford for ambitious 13-15-year-olds who want to explore chemical concepts in a university-style setting. The course is hosted at colleges of the University of Oxford and is designed for students who are curious about the substances that make up our world and how they interact.

Students study a range of chemistry topics, including rates of reaction, states of matter, surface tension, fossil fuels, crystals and the periodic table. Teaching is delivered through small-group classes, interactive discussion, guided problem-solving and hands-on experiments, with tutors tailoring content to the interests of each group rather than following a fixed curriculum.

The programme also includes a teamwork and collaboration masterclass, a reflection session, guided research, practical challenges and excursions around Oxford. Students receive a certificate of completion, detailed tutor feedback and a personalised letter of recommendation, along with pastoral support and a structured social experience.
