Explore ancient cultures and history in small-group tutorials at Oxford University colleges, with sessions shaped around your interests. You’ll tackle independent work, hear from expert speakers and visit Oxford colleges, then receive a certificate and personalised letter of recommendation.

Atlas Summer Courses’ Classical Civilisation summer school is designed for ambitious 16-17-year-olds who want to explore the ancient world in depth. Hosted at Oxford University colleges, the programme focuses on ancient cultures and history, with students also engaging with philosophy, methodology, literature, art, politics, mythology and archaeology through a humanities-led approach.

Teaching is delivered in small groups and tutorials of up to 10 students, with expert tutors tailoring sessions to the interests of the group. Students complete independent work that is discussed in personalised tutorials, take part in an academic skills masterclass, hear from expert speakers, and visit Oxford colleges.

The course also includes opportunities to attend a university fair, helping students explore future study and career pathways while gaining a certificate and a personalised letter of recommendation at the end of the programme.
