Study genetics, molecular biology, organic chemistry and environmental science in small-group classes at Oxford, with teaching shaped by your interests. Explore ideas through seminars, workshops and hands-on discovery, then finish with a certificate and tutor feedback.

Prize: Certificate of completion, detailed feedback from the tutor and a personalised letter of recommendation

Atlas Summer Courses’ Biology and Chemistry summer school is designed for ambitious 13-15-year-olds who want to explore the science of life and matter in an engaging Oxford setting. Students study key ideas such as genetics, molecular biology, organic chemistry and environmental science, with teaching shaped around the interests of the group rather than a fixed curriculum.

Learning takes place in small groups, with interactive classes, seminars and workshops led by experienced tutors. The course combines academic study with hands-on discovery, encouraging students to question ideas, analyse data and apply the scientific method to real-world challenges.

Masterclasses, directed study and reflection sessions help build confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills.

The programme is hosted at colleges of the University of Oxford and offers both non-residential and residential package options. Depending on the tier chosen, students may have accommodation, meals, excursions, airport transfer and insurance included.

All students receive a certificate on completion, along with tutor feedback, and the programme is intended to be both intellectually challenging and inspiring.
