Explore markets, competition and economic decision-making in small-group, tutorial-style classes in Oxford. You’ll discuss big economic ideas, get tutor feedback on essays or problem sheets, and hear from expert speakers. Finish with a certificate and a tutor’s letter of recommendation.

Atlas Summer Courses’ Economics summer school gives students the chance to explore the ideas that shape global and domestic economies in a small-group, Oxford-based setting. The programme focuses on key economic concepts such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, markets, competition, economic performance and decision-making, with teaching tailored to the interests of the group rather than a fixed curriculum.

Learners study through tutorial-style classes, seminars and independent work, with sessions designed to strengthen analytical thinking, discussion skills and academic confidence. The course also includes tutorial Q&A, an academic skills masterclass, expert speakers, college visits and a university fair, helping students think about future study and career pathways.

Students work in groups of up to 10, allowing for close tutor support and regular feedback on essays or problem sheets. At the end of the course, participants receive a certificate and a letter of recommendation from their tutor, recognising their progress and engagement.

Atlas also runs this course for ages 13-15.
