Explore engineering at University of Oxford colleges through hands-on challenges and mini-projects in areas such as sustainable energy, materials science and structural design. Lessons adapt to your group’s interests, and you receive a certificate of completion.
Atlas Summer Courses’ Engineering summer school gives students aged 13 to 15 the chance to explore engineering in an academically focused, hands-on environment. Based at University of Oxford colleges, the course is designed for ambitious learners who enjoy problem-solving and want to see how scientific and mathematical thinking can be used to create real-world solutions.
Students study core engineering ideas through interactive teaching, guided mini-projects and practical challenges. Topics can include sustainable energy, materials science and structural design, and tutors tailor lessons to the interests of the group rather than following a fixed curriculum.
The programme also includes teamwork and collaboration activities, helping students build confidence, communication and analytical skills.
Alongside the academic experience, students benefit from a structured social and cultural programme and the chance to experience Oxford as a place of study. Depending on the package selected, accommodation, meals, trips and transfers may be included, and students receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.
