Interactive lessons and independent research build your understanding, while a teamwork-and-debating masterclass puts ideas into discussion. Finish with a certificate of completion and tutor feedback.
Atlas Summer Courses’ Mathematics and Physics summer school is an academic summer programme for ambitious 13-15-year-olds, hosted at colleges of the University of Oxford. It is designed to help students strengthen their understanding of mathematics and physics while exploring how numbers and natural laws can be used to understand the universe.
The course covers topics such as algebra, calculus, mechanics, electronics, astrophysics and particle physics. Teaching takes place in small groups, with interactive lessons, practice tasks, group discussion, independent research and homework reviewed in class.
Students also take part in a subject-linked masterclass focused on teamwork and debating, alongside daily reflection activities to help them consolidate what they have learned.
Alongside the academic content, students experience Oxford as a university city through a wider social and cultural programme. The course includes excursions, structured activities and supervised downtime, and students receive a certificate of completion plus tutor feedback at the end of the programme.
