AUB Academy offers discounted places on its summer creative programmes for young people who meet one or more Access and Participation criteria. The offer supports access to creative education by reducing the cost of both 2-week summer courses for older students and the Creative Arts Summer School for younger learners, helping eligible participants take part in a university-based creative experience.
Students can choose from a wide range of creative subjects, including 3D design, acting, animation, architecture, commercial photography, creative art and design, fashion, textiles and costume design, filmmaking and production, games art and character design, dance, movement and performance, fine art, special effects and character makeup. The 2-week courses are aimed at ages 13–18, while the Creative Arts Summer School is aimed at ages 7–15.
To receive the discounted price, applicants email academy@aub. ac. uk with a letter from a teacher or professional confirming eligibility and/or a screenshot showing postcode eligibility.
AUB then sends a link to book at the reduced rate. The summer school price includes all materials and resources, and both programme strands are designed to give young people a supportive, inclusive environment in which to build creative skills and confidence.

Location
- Students must meet at least one Access and Participation criterion to receive the discount.
- Currently in receipt of Free School Meals, or eligible for Free School Meals if home-schooled.
- In local authority care, or looked after for three months or more.
- Young Carers.
- From a Gypsy, Roma, Traveller, Showman, or Boater community.
- Have a parent who has served, or is currently serving, in the UK armed forces.
- Studying at an alternative provision.
- A refugee.
- Live in an area with low levels of progression to Higher Education within TUNDRA LSOA quintiles 1 or 2.
- Live in an area within IMD quintiles 1, 2, 3 or 4.
Students who meet one or more Access and Participation criteria can receive a 20% discount. The 2-week summer courses usually cost £1,899 and the discounted price is £1,519.20. The Creative Arts Summer School usually costs £369 or £389 and the discounted prices are £295.20 or £311.20. Course materials and resources are included in the Creative Arts Summer School price.
