This intensive Saturday Art School course is designed for aspiring young artists (aged 14-17) who want to prepare and develop a robust creative portfolio for future further or higher education in the arts. Delivered by specialist portfolio-development tutors, the programme covers 2D and 3D approaches, experimental and observational drawing, collage, printmaking, mixed media, illustration, and fundamentals such as colour and composition.
Participants receive talks from AUB Foundation tutors and have the opportunity for a personal portfolio review. The course is practical and workshop-based: each week introduces new skills and techniques through structured assignments, projects and problem-solving exercises.
Students are encouraged to undertake personal projects with close tutor guidance, consolidate skills through formative appraisal and critique, and learn how to present and digitise their work for application purposes. Sessions run across the Autumn term 2026 dates (see intake).
To book, use AUB's online store. All materials are provided and no prior experience is required; enquiries can be made by email or phone.
