Audit Higher Apprenticeship Programme 2026 - Rickmansworth

Mercer & Hole's Audit Higher Apprenticeship Programme in Rickmansworth offers on-the-job audit experience alongside formal study of the AAT qualification (Levels 3 & 4). As an audit apprentice you'll work across a variety of clients and sectors, preparing and analysing financial information, contributing to audit testing, and developing practical accounting and problem-solving skills.

The programme is structured across Year 1 and Year 2: Year 1 focuses on foundational tasks such as preparing control accounts, calculating prepayments and accruals, maintaining fixed asset registers and drafting basic financial statements while beginning to apply auditing principles. Year 2 builds on this experience with preparation of more complex statutory accounts, undertaking small audits, completing complex audit testing and supporting more junior trainees.

Apprentices receive dedicated learning support including trainee away days, a training manager, a buddy system and study leave. On completion of the AAT qualification there is the opportunity to apply to study towards the ACA and further professional development within the firm.
