Audit Higher Apprenticeship Programme 2026 - Milton Keynes

This Audit Higher Apprenticeship Programme offers hands-on experience within Mercer & Hole's Audit team while you study for AAT Level 3 and 4. Apprentices will work across a range of clients and sectors, carrying out tasks such as analysing bank payments, preparing control accounts, calculating prepayments and accruals, updating fixed asset registers and drafting basic financial statements.

You will learn auditing principles and gain exposure to senior managers and partners through structured team working.

The programme is delivered over two years with Year 1 focused on gaining foundational accounting and auditing skills and Year 2 building toward preparing more complex statutory accounts, undertaking simple audits independently and completing more advanced audit testing. The firm provides trainee away days, a dedicated training manager, a buddy system and study leave to support progression.

On completing the AAT qualification, apprentices have the opportunity to apply to study the ACA and continue toward chartered accountant status.
