Join BAE Systems as a Degree Apprentice in Electronics Hardware Engineering based in Rochester. You will be trained to design, build and test high-quality electronics solutions and learn to apply engineering principles across the electronics hardware development lifecycle, from requirements through analysis, design, development, implementation, integration and verification.

Alongside on-the-job project assignments that develop practical electronics engineering competence for complex display and control systems, you will study for a Level 6 BEng (Hons) in Embedded Electronic Systems Design and Development at the University of Greenwich. Progression through the scheme increases responsibility and complexity of work with the end goal of qualifying as an Electronics Hardware Engineer.

The role includes a starting salary (see remuneration) and access to BAE Systems benefits such as pension, employee share plans, health and wellbeing offerings, and potential annual incentives. Note that many roles are subject to security and export control restrictions and may require baseline or higher national security vetting and residency requirements.

  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4 / A*-C, including Maths, English and a Science/Technical subject
  • AND one of the following: 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above with at least one subject in Maths and one in Engineering or a Science/Technical subject
  • OR an equivalent Level 3 vocational qualification in a STEM-related subject worth a minimum of 96 UCAS points
  • Roles are subject to security and export control restrictions; applicants must at minimum achieve Baseline Personnel Security Standard
  • Some roles require higher levels of national security vetting which typically require 5 to 10 years continuous UK residency depending on vetting level
