Balliol College's Insight Talk Series is a set of online academic sessions led by University of Oxford graduates. Each session introduces a research-linked topic and takes the form of an interactive workshop where students can ask questions and deepen their understanding beyond the school curriculum.
The programme is super-curricular and designed to introduce new areas of knowledge to students in Year 12, with Year 11 students welcome to join. Topics in the 2026-2027 series include aerospace engineering, wind energy, mining engineering, space-mission planning, quantum gravity and planetary exploration, and sessions are suitable for students considering further study in science and engineering.
These online talks are free to attend and will be recorded for later viewing. Places must be booked in advance via the online booking form for each talk; booking instructions and links are provided for each session.
