Shadow NHS staff at Queen’s or King George Hospital, exploring clinical and non-clinical roles from radiography to pharmacy and administration. Ask questions, plan your time around your interests and see how different teams contribute to patient care.
Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust offers face-to-face work experience placements at Queen’s Hospital and King George Hospital for young people interested in a career in the NHS. Placements are available across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical areas, with opportunities to explore professional groups such as nursing, radiography, pharmacy, physiotherapy, medical photography, administration, health and safety, and more.
During the placement, participants shadow staff, learn what day-to-day work looks like in healthcare, and get an insight into how different roles contribute to patient care. You can speak to a variety of staff, ask questions, and plan your time in advance so the placement reflects your interests as much as possible.
The programme runs throughout the year, Monday to Friday, and placements last for up to two weeks. Applicants are expected to apply at least eight weeks before their preferred dates.
