Explore clinical and non-clinical areas across hospital sites, seeing how different roles help a hospital run and where healthcare and wider NHS careers can lead. Apply by emailing the work experience team, with at least six weeks’ notice for checks and clearances.
Work experience placements at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Charity offer students the chance to explore both clinical and non-clinical areas across the hospital sites. The programme is designed to give an insight into how a hospital operates and what different roles involve, helping participants understand pathways into healthcare and wider NHS careers.
Placements are intended for students who are or will be 16 by the time the placement takes place. The experience can help strengthen university or college applications by giving students real insight into an area they may want to pursue.
Demand is high, so there is usually a waiting list and the charity cannot always accommodate every applicant.
Anyone interested should email the work experience team to apply or find out more. A minimum of six weeks’ notice before the placement date is required so the team has enough time to complete the application process, arrange the placement, and carry out the necessary checks and clearances.
