Be the first point of contact for visitors at a nature centre, sharing information on walks, activities, events and wildlife while serving customers in the Lakeside Shop. Keep shelves tidy, restock stock and receive deliveries; 14-17-year-olds can volunteer with supervision from an 18+ volunteer.
Retail and Information Volunteers support the Nature Discovery Centre by being a friendly first point of contact for visitors. The role is based at the visitor centre and helps BBOWT staff and volunteers run the reception and Lakeside Shop.
Tasks include giving general information about walks, activities, events and wildlife, serving customers, keeping the shop tidy, restocking shelves, and receiving deliveries. Volunteers may also help promote BBOWT and encourage visitors to get involved with volunteering at the centre.
This is a regular volunteering role, with a particular need for help on Sundays, although weekday and weekend availability as part of an ongoing commitment is also welcome. Full days and shorter shifts are available.
It is suitable for under-18s: 18+ volunteers can take part independently, while 14-17 year olds can volunteer with supervision from an 18+ volunteer. The Trust is looking for someone with a friendly, welcoming approach and an interest in retail and customer service.
Sessions run weekly
Expenses payable: none.
