This two-week summer course at the University of Oxford campus is designed for ambitious students aged 13-15 who want to explore architecture through a mix of history, theory and hands-on design. Small groups (maximum eight students) enable personalised mentoring, classroom seminars and studio-style project work where pupils develop and present their own designs.
Sessions include masterclasses on collaboration, reflection activities and directed study to build both creative and academic skills. The programme includes supervised excursions to notable sites (British Museum, Warwick Castle, Tower of London, Bath, Blenheim Palace, Ashmolean Museum and city tours of Oxford and Portsmouth) to deepen historical and contextual understanding.
Residential and non-residential options are offered, with full-board meals and college accommodation for residential students. Day students follow a structured timetable with drop-off between 08:30-09:00 and pick-up between 18:30-19:00.
All students receive a certificate of achievement, detailed tutor feedback and a personalised Letter of Recommendation. The course also includes scheduled Heathrow airport transfers on official arrival/departure days and on-course pastoral support to ensure a safe learning environment.
