Fancy turning sketches into screen-ready characters? Join Thom Botwood for a hands-on day of drawing, storytelling and style - learn gesture, develop original film-and-fashion characters, get portfolio insight and practical skills to boost your creative path.

Join professional illustrator and character designer Thom Botwood for a hands-on day of drawing, storytelling and style. Thom will share his creative journey and film/fashion portfolio, giving insights into how character concepts evolve from page to screen.

The session combines demonstration, discussion and practical exercises.

You will work through pen-and-ink gesture and posture exercises, quick studies of people and imagined figures, and progress to developing your own film character illustrations. The day also includes fashion-illustration exercises that explore how clothing and silhouette help tell a character's story.

The workshop is relaxed and suitable for all skill levels.

The event takes place in Beth's studio at Insole Court, Cardiff. All materials are provided and the workshop is described as an adult session, with GCSE and A-Level students very welcome. Expect practical guidance, portfolio insight and techniques you can use in creative coursework or personal projects.
