Big Red Education STEM Research Bootcamp

Big Red Education’s STEM Research Bootcamp is an online, expert-led research programme designed for students in grades 8-12 who want to build a stronger STEM research profile. It introduces the fundamentals of research, including methodology, research purposes, source synthesis, ethical guardrails, data design, citations, and academic writing, while also showing how artificial intelligence can support research responsibly.

Across six days of live sessions, participants work through a structured research journey that includes brainstorming topics, refining research questions, selecting a final research area and hypothesis, and developing a polished final product. The curriculum also includes expert deep dives into areas such as machine learning, applied mathematics, engineering, data science, and materials science, with guidance from mentors drawn from leading universities and industry.

The bootcamp is interactive and outcome-focused, with group discussions, activities, a funding simulation, and a final showcase. Participants receive a certificate of participation, and there is an opportunity to receive a letter of recommendation from mentors.

The programme also highlights merit awards for standout research ideas, methods, data use, and intersectional thinking.
