Embark on a transformative summer program in biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Michigan designed for high-school students aged 14–18. The course covers chemical foundations of living systems, cellular transport, and genetic processes (mitosis, meiosis, DNA replication, transcription and translation), combining lectures with hands-on activities and field trips.
Students work toward a capstone scientific presentation exploring a current research topic, developing skills in analysis and science communication. The program runs as residential or day sessions on the Ann Arbor campus and is suitable for students considering careers in medicine, research, or related STEM fields.
Participants receive a Course Completion Certificate and a Letter of Recognition; credit-bearing courses provide grade reports and instructions for requesting transcripts (acceptance of credit depends on receiving institutions). To apply, complete the Summer Institute Application and follow the enrolment and deposit instructions provided by the programme.
