Biomedical Science Summer School with BioGrad Education

This is a five-day, hands-on Biomedical Science summer school delivered in BioGrad Education's Liverpool laboratories for students aged 16-19. Participants undertake practical laboratory sessions covering microbiology, immunology, bacterial culture, ELISA, PCR, microscopy and research project design.

Teaching is led by experienced scientists and focuses on giving real laboratory experience, technical skills and an understanding of scientific research processes. The programme is residential with evening social activities that help students build confidence, independence and communication skills while meeting peers from the UK and around the world.

Accommodation is arranged separately through recommended providers close to BioGrad’s training facilities. The course is designed to strengthen university and medical school applications and awards a certificate of completion; it can also count as the Residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
