Take breakfast orders and serve drinks and food to inpatients at Selly Park. Help keep the kitchen and canteen clean and tidy, with flexible shifts of a couple of hours or a morning each week.

Birmingham Hospice is looking for volunteer General Assistants to support the Catering Team at its Selly Park site. Volunteers help provide freshly prepared meals and drinks for patients on the Inpatient Unit, with a particular focus on breakfast service in the mornings.

Typical duties include serving water and other drinks on the wards, taking breakfast orders, and distributing food and drinks to inpatients. Volunteers also help with general cleaning and tidying in the kitchen and canteen areas, supporting the smooth running of the catering service.

This role is flexible and suitable for someone who can give a couple of hours or a morning each week. Birmingham Hospice says it can support volunteers who do not already have a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, and it welcomes people who are warm, friendly, good listeners and able to communicate well with patients and their loved ones.
