Spend one to five days observing healthcare professionals in a real workplace, see different roles in action and ask questions about their work. Complete the placement evaluation to receive a certificate of attendance.
Blackpool Teaching Hospitals offers work experience placements that let students observe healthcare professionals in a real workplace setting. The experience is designed to build understanding of what it is like to work in healthcare, with opportunities to see different roles in action and ask questions about the work being carried out.
Placements are observational only and last between one and five days. They can help you reflect on career choices, strengthen your CV, and support applications for college or university. Participants receive a certificate of attendance after completing the placement evaluation, which can be kept for personal records.
To apply, you need to complete an application and email the Apprenticeship and Widening Participation Team with your name, age, place of study if applicable, and your preferred placement area, service or profession. You must be 16 and have left school, and some clinical placements may only be available during half terms or summer holidays.
