The Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneur Competition is a virtual entrepreneurship challenge for high school students from around the world. Entrants develop an original blue-ocean business idea that solves a real-world problem and present it through a short pitch video.
Participants also get access to the Blue Ocean Mini-Course and supporting templates to help shape their idea. Students can compete on their own or in teams of up to five. The process includes registration, idea development, video submission, and judging across several rounds.
Pitches are reviewed by experienced entrepreneurs and business people, with shortlisted entries moving forward until winners are announced. The competition rewards strong ideas, clear communication, and practical business thinking.
Prizes include cash awards, certificates for winners, and recognition for all participants who submit a pitch. It is designed for young people who want to test an entrepreneurial idea, improve their pitching skills, and join a global community of student innovators.

Location
- Must be enrolled in high school/secondary school when registering.
- Open to students from around the world.
- Participants must be high school age (14-18 years old) at the time of registration.
- You can compete individually or as part of a team of up to 5 students.
- Team members can come from the same high school or different high schools.
- If you graduate before the submission deadline, you can still submit your pitch.
- All participants must register for the competition.
- All participants must complete the Blue Ocean Mini-Course before submitting a pitch.
- All pitches must be original.
- All pitches must be submitted in English.
- Pitch videos must be under 5 minutes in length.
- Pitch videos must be uploaded to YouTube with the hashtag #blueoceancompetition and a link submitted on the pitch form.
