Join the Brailes Energy Hackathon to share ideas and shape practical solutions for saving energy, cutting bills and taking local action. Organised by Warwickshire County Council in partnership with the University of Gloucestershire and Sustainable Brailes, this community-focused event brings local people together to identify realistic projects that could benefit Brailes.
The hackathon runs in two linked parts and attendees should be available for both. Part 1 is an online webinar (Friday 3 July, 10:00-11:30 BST) to introduce the challenge, share local context and start idea development.
Part 2 is an in-person workshop (Monday 6 July, 09:30-16:30 BST) at Brailes Village Hall where small groups will develop ideas into practical project concepts, explore potential funding and identify next steps. This activity contributes to a wider research project led by the University of Gloucestershire's Countryside and Community Research Institute.
Participants will be asked to read a short information sheet and confirm consent before taking part. Whether you have an idea or simply an interest, you will gain practical insight into local energy challenges and connect with others keen to take community action.
