Bricklaying Apprenticeship Level 2

JMP Bricklaying & Building Services are recruiting a Level 2 Apprentice Bricklayer based in Buckfastleigh (TQ11). Most of the apprenticeship is on-the-job: you will learn to lay bricks, blocks and pavers, mix and apply mortar, check vertical and horizontal alignments, and follow architectural plans.

Day-to-day duties include preparing mortar, constructing and repairing masonry, maintaining a tidy workspace and working alongside other builders on new build properties in the Devon and Cornwall area.

Training is delivered through Skills Group Limited and includes one day per week at the Skills Group training centre plus regular assessor visits every six to eight weeks. The programme includes the Level 2 Bricklayer Apprenticeship Standard, the Construction Skills Health, Safety and Environment (CSCS) test (with support to complete this), Functional Skills in English and maths if required, Emergency First Aid and Health & Safety certificates.

Practical and theory elements are covered to build both manual skills and knowledge required for site work.

The apprenticeship is full-time (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday) and starts on 22 November 2025. On completion of the Level 2 apprenticeship there may be an opportunity to apply for a full-time post with the employer. Application is via the GOV.UK apprenticeships service using GOV.UK One Login.
