Take a trolley around hospital wards, delivering drinks, food and everyday essentials to patients who may struggle to get around. Stock supplies, unpack deliveries and connect with patients, families and staff across several hospitals.
The Sweet Trolley Volunteer role supports Bright Northumbria Healthcare Charity’s trolley service, which goes around wards every weekday delivering drinks, food and other everyday essentials to patients who may find it difficult to travel around the hospital. It is a practical, patient-facing volunteering role within Northumbria Healthcare Trust’s hospital network.
Volunteers help with tasks such as building relationships with patients, families and staff, and stocking and unpacking the trolley. The role is designed for people who enjoy working with others, contributing to a caring environment, and helping to make patients’ time in hospital a little easier.
The opportunity is available across several hospitals, including Hexham General Hospital, North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. Volunteers are expected to commit to regular shifts, give notice of their availability, attend mandatory training and meet the charity’s volunteering standards.
Volunteering is unpaid.
Free to volunteer.
