This is a flexible volunteer role in the British Heart Foundation shop stock room in Crewe. The charity funds vital research into heart and circulatory diseases, and volunteers help support that work by keeping the behind-the-scenes stock room running smoothly.
It is a hands-on role for people who enjoy being organised, practical and helpful, and who like working as part of a friendly team.
Typical tasks include preparing donated items for sale, using a clothes steamer, attaching labels and tags, identifying items that cannot be sold so they can be recycled, and keeping the sort room neat and tidy. No specific skills are needed, just a willingness to help and learn how the stock room works.
The role is unpaid, but volunteers can access training and development, travel expenses reimbursement, refreshments, volunteer certificates, references, long service awards and staff discounts in the shop.
