Process donated furniture and keep stock moving from van to warehouse to shop floor, helping fund research into heart and circulatory diseases. Get stuck into practical, active teamwork, from organising deliveries to building flat-pack furniture and carrying out light repairs.

This volunteer role supports the British Heart Foundation’s Crewe Homestore warehouse, helping keep stock moving smoothly between the van, warehouse and shop floor. The charity uses income from its shops to fund research into heart and circulatory diseases, and volunteers play an important part in that work by helping to process donated furniture and prepare items for sale.

Typical duties include safely lifting and carrying furniture, keeping the warehouse clean, safe and organised, dealing with van deliveries, preparing customer deliveries, restocking the shop floor, building flat-pack furniture and carrying out light repairs when confident. There are also opportunities to help with warehouse logistics, stock booking and testing electrical items, so the role suits people who enjoy practical work, teamwork and being active.

It is flexible, inclusive and unpaid, with reasonable travel expenses reimbursed.
