Be the first point of contact at a busy charity homestore, handling customer enquiries, arranging donation collections and explaining Gift Aid. You’ll also process online collection bookings and support reception near the cashier desk.

This is a flexible volunteering role at the British Heart Foundation’s Crewe Homestore, supporting a charity that funds lifesaving research into heart and circulatory diseases. Volunteers play an important part in helping the team raise money for research into heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia and diabetes.

As a telephone and administration volunteer, you will be the first point of contact for customers and help with phone and face-to-face enquiries. Typical duties include arranging collections of donations through the local van teams, explaining the Gift Aid scheme, and processing online collection booking requests using the store’s online system.

The role is ideal for someone who is calm, collected, confident speaking on the phone and happy to work in a busy front-of-house environment. You will also support reception duties near the cashier desk and help with accurate administration.

The opportunity is unpaid, but it is described as friendly, inclusive and flexible, with support from the charity shop team.
