Get practical experience behind the scenes of a busy heritage organisation, with placements across catering, marketing, events, archive work and the vehicle workshop. Senior school placements usually run for one week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 3pm.
Work experience placements at the British Motor Museum are open to people who want real-world experience in a professional setting. You do not need to be aiming for a museum career, as the placements are designed to give practical exposure and transferable skills that can support many different future pathways.
Participants can gain experience in a range of departments, including catering, marketing, conferencing, events, archive work and the vehicle workshop. This makes the placement suitable for students who want to understand how a busy heritage organisation operates behind the scenes, as well as those interested in more visitor-facing or practical roles.
For senior school students, placements usually last one week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm. For college or university students, the museum usually offers placements from one to four working weeks, and some departments may require additional hours outside the normal Monday to Friday working day.
Placements are popular, so early email enquiries are encouraged, and school-age pupils can only be accommodated if they attend Kineton Secondary School.
Free to take part.
