Learn to plan and support safe triathlon sessions through two online workshops, ten self-led modules and a face-to-face development day. Put your skills into practice by delivering a 15-minute coaching session and completing three supervised sessions in your own environment.

The British Triathlon Foundation Coach Award introduces the fundamentals of triathlon coaching and is designed for people who want to develop the essential skills and knowledge needed to support basic coaching sessions. It covers coaching ethics, safe practice, triathlon-specific equipment and clothing, planning sessions, monitoring participant needs, and adapting activities so they are safe and effective under the supervision of a more qualified coach.

The learning programme combines two online workshops, ten self-led online modules, and a face-to-face development day. Assessment is through practical coaching delivery, short knowledge checks, and reflective planning tasks, including coaching a 15-minute session and completing three supervised coaching sessions in your own environment.

Learners are expected to complete the award within three months, and they need access to a suitable coaching environment, a supervising coach, and the required safeguarding arrangements.
