Bucksmorea0Engineering Summer Course is a pre-university residential programme delivered at St Catharine's College, Cambridge. Designed for 15a0to17-year-olds, the course teaches core engineering topics at a first-year undergraduate level and combines lectures, small-group tutorials, laboratory sessions and design projects to develop practical and analytical skills.
Course content covers foundation mathematics, mechanics and properties of matter, laboratory skills, electricity and electronics, and applied technology and innovation. Students participate in hands-on experiments, design-build-test challenges, guest lectures, masterclasses and excursions (two full-day and one half-day excursion per week), and graduate with a personalised report and Bucksmore certification.
The programme is delivered on-campus with residential accommodation, three meals per day, activity fees, excursions, insurance and UK airport transfers included (conditions apply). Applicants complete an online application and must provide passport and school details; a £500 reservation fee is required to reserve a place.
