Want to test-drive university politics? Join Bucksmore’s residential International Relations & Politics course to study first-year material, debate case studies, and build academic and debating skills. Connect with peers and academics to boost your uni and career readiness.

Bucksmore’s International Relations & Politics Summer Course is a pre-university residential programme designed to prepare 15-17 year olds for university-level study in politics and related fields. Students study International Relations & Politics at a first-year undergraduate level, combining lectures, small-group tutorials and supercurricular workshops.

The course develops analytical, debating and academic skills through case studies, seminars and guest lectures.

The programme runs on the University of Oxford campus (St Hilda's College) with two start dates in 2026 (30 June and 14 July) and 2- or 4-week study options. Students follow an academic timetable of approximately 23 teaching hours per week in small classes (typical class size 8), take part in 2 full-day and 1 half-day excursions per week, and experience university life including formal hall and graduation.

The course is residential and fully inclusive: accommodation, three meals per day, academic materials, activity fees, excursions, insurance and UK airport transfers (conditions apply) are included. Students receive a personalised report card, a Bucksmore certification and a Bucksmore Letter of Recommendation on completion.
