Hear a Scott Brownrigg panel explore how architecture can widen access to the built environment. Discover how work experience, mentoring, apprenticeships and early career opportunities can tackle barriers to education, training and employment - and what makes these routes effective.
This lunchtime talk explores how the architecture profession can better support future talent and widen access into the built environment. Hosted at the Building Centre and presented by a panel from Scott Brownrigg, the session looks at the barriers that can prevent young people from moving into education, training and employment, and why accessible pathways into professional life matter.
Drawing on Scott Brownrigg’s Future Talent Programme, the discussion considers practical approaches such as work experience, mentoring, apprenticeships and early career opportunities. It also reflects on what makes these initiatives effective, the responsibilities of employers in tackling barriers to entry, and how the profession can develop more inclusive routes into architectural education and practice.
The talk is aimed at young people seeking opportunities as well as organisations looking to strengthen their approach to early career development.
